Projects and Events

Our work is always evolving. Throughout the year, Hearts of Mercy organizes and participates in a wide range of projects and community events—both large and small—focused on supporting those in need. We lead many of these initiatives while also collaborating with the incredible organizations and partners who share our mission. From ongoing local service efforts to global humanitarian campaigns, each project reflects our commitment to bringing people together to make a meaningful, lasting impact.

Our Work in Action

Hearts of Mercy is continuously working on projects that serve communities in need both locally and globally. Below are a few highlights from some of the initiatives we are proud to support.

Hearts for syria: 2025-Present

A long-term humanitarian initiative dedicated to helping Syrian communities rebuild stability, dignity, and hope after years of conflict. The program focuses first on restoring safe living conditions through emergency home repairs and providing reliable electricity through solar power solutions. In addition, ongoing efforts support life-saving medical care and surgeries, meal distribution for vulnerable families, environmental recovery through tree-planting initiatives, and trauma support programs—working to help communities heal and rebuild from 2026 and beyond.

Hearts for lebanon: 2023-present

A humanitarian effort dedicated to raising awareness, resources, and support for families and communities across Lebanon. This movement is focused on providing relief to the people struggling amidst day-to-day uncertainty. Working closely with Ajialouna, the initiative helps fund education programs, rebuild school facilities, provide transportation for students, and support teachers and nurses serving vulnerable communities. Hearts of Mercy also helped provide thousands of meals, medical assistance, and essential daily support while participating in large-scale community efforts such as the world’s largest Iftar gathering, bringing people together in a spirit of unity, compassion, and hope.

The Lebanon Relief Fund: 2020-2023

An emergency fundraising effort launched in response to the devastating 2020 Beirut port explosion, which left hospitals overwhelmed and facing severe shortages of critical medical supplies. Through a coordinated humanitarian response, Hearts of Mercy mobilized supporters to provide immediate assistance to healthcare facilities struggling to care for thousands of injured patients. Funds raised were used to purchase and deliver essential medical supplies and life-saving equipment to hospitals that were running dangerously low—or had completely run out—of the resources needed to treat those affected by the disaster.

humanitarian DaY: 2001-2026

A yearly service initiative that brings together volunteers to support underserved communities through direct outreach and aid. Each year, participants prepare meals, purchase essential goods, and assemble thousands of care packages filled with food and basic necessities. Hearts of Mercy has proudly participated in this effort alongside the ILM Foundation every year since it began, contributing thousands of units of food, cooking supplies, snacks, and other essential items while volunteering throughout the day to package, organize, and distribute these care packages to homeless and underserved communities across Los Angeles and Santa Ana.

OC BOCCE CHAMPIONSHIP: 2023-2026

An annual community event where Hearts of Mercy Foundation collaborates with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to support underserved children and teens. Through event sponsorship and volunteer service, the championship brings together community members for a day of friendly competition while raising funds for youth mentorship, sports programs, and after-school activities. Hearts of Mercy volunteers help organize the event and serve over 500 meals each year, helping create a welcoming environment while supporting programs that empower young people to learn, grow, and thrive.

Light the night walk: 2014-2020

A nationwide campaign supporting blood cancer research, patient care, and families affected by leukemia and lymphoma. Hearts of Mercy Foundation participates as a sponsor, volunteer, and coordinator, helping ensure the event runs smoothly while providing critical support to participants. Each year, we contribute over 5,000 meals and assist with logistics, raising both awareness and funds for programs that improve the lives of patients and their families.

The New Beginnings Project: 2017-2019

A local community initiative in Orange County, California, dedicated to helping resettled Syrian refugee families adjust to life in the United States by connecting them with essential resources, guidance, and local support networks. Founded by Syrian American volunteers, the project focuses on easing the challenges of resettlement while fostering stability and belonging. Hearts of Mercy Foundation proudly partnered with the initiative by organizing a community fundraising brunch that generated significant support for programs that help refugee families integrate, access resources, and build new lives in their communities.

The Passions Project: 2015-2018

A youth initiative launched by Hearts of Mercy Foundation in partnership with New Horizon Elementary School, encouraging students to turn their personal interests into meaningful acts of service. By guiding young people to use their passions—whether in art, animals, baking, technology, or other creative pursuits—the program helps them develop philanthropic ideas that support their communities. Through mentorship and encouragement, Hearts of Mercy empowers students to transform their creativity and compassion into real initiatives, inspiring a lifelong commitment to giving back and making a positive difference.
